He was a good person, and he loved people, all kinds. When no one, not even the federal government, would help the people in New Orleans, my dad spent his own money and time to help those in need. He pulled people out of floods, helped people to shelter and safety. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and the death toll nearly reached 2000 people, my dad dropped everything about his life, and was one of the first volunteers there to help those in need. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again?
